PlastiCLEAN – The Premier Choice for Microplastic Exposure!
Oyster Mushroom-Derived Chitosan Dietary Fiber Enriched with Bioactive B-Vitamins
PlastiCLEAN features the world's only dietary fiber, chitosan, extracted from the chitin of oyster mushrooms. This is a purely natural, non-digestible fiber and biopolymer.

PlastiCLEAN and Its Cofactors
Our dr.reinwald vital products are designed as complex formulations. These active complexes are far more efficient than mono-substances, as they provide the body with vital synergists and cofactors for optimized metabolic processes.

In PlastiCLEAN, we provide biologically active forms of methylcobalamin (B12), pyridoxal phosphate (B6), and methylfolate (B9), in addition to vegan chitosan sourced from oyster mushrooms. "Biologically active" indicates that these vitamins are already in a physiological form as they appear and function in the organism, ensuring better absorption and bioavailability.

Methylcobalamin is one of two bioactive coenzyme forms of vitamin B12 that benefit our body directly. Unlike other forms, which must be converted by the body, methylcobalamin is readily absorbed at the cellular level. This is particularly crucial for the central nervous system's function and the synthesis of neurotransmitters.

Methylfolate is the natural, biologically active form of folic acid. It has superior uptake and availability compared to synthetic folic acid, which has to be converted into folate by the liver. Folate is vital for cell growth, DNA replication, and is particularly essential during pregnancy.

Pyridoxal Phosphate, the activated form of vitamin B6, is involved in over 100 enzymatic reactions, particularly in amino acid and protein metabolism. As a coenzyme, it supports neurotransmitter synthesis and positively influences the nervous and immune systems.

Read more about microplastics
The topic of microplastics and their potential impact on human health is of increasing concern, particularly as these tiny particles have been found in various parts of the environment—including air, water, and soil—as well as within the human body. Here's a comprehensive look at the issue:

Sources of Microplastics
Microplastics can come from a variety of sources, including:

  • Broken-down larger plastic items like bottles and bags
  • Clothing fibers, especially synthetic fabrics like polyester
  • Personal care products like toothpaste and scrubs
  • Industrial processes
  • Tire wear from vehicles

Ways Microplastics Enter the Human Body
Microplastics can make their way into the human body through:

  • Inhalation: From the air we breathe, particularly in urban and industrialized areas
  • Ingestion: Via contaminated food and water
  • Dermal Contact: Though this is considered a less likely route compared to inhalation and ingestion

Potential Health Effects
The long-term health effects of microplastic exposure are still under investigation, but some potential concerns include:

  • Respiratory Issues: Inflammation and irritation of the lungs.
  • Digestive Problems: Possible disruption of the gut microbiome and leaching of toxic substances.
  • Hormonal Imbalance: Acting as endocrine disruptors, they can interfere with hormonal systems.
  • Immune System: Triggering of inflammation, allergies, or autoimmune diseases.
  • Neurological Effects: Potential for oxidative stress and neurotoxicity, including the possibility of crossing the blood-brain barrier.

Current Research Findings

  • Blood Samples: A 2021 study found microplastics in blood samples from 17 out of 22 healthy adult volunteers in the Netherlands.
  • Stool Samples: All participants in a 2019 study had microplastics in their stool.
  • Placental Samples: Microplastics were found in four out of six placentas from healthy pregnant women in a 2020 study.
  • Breast Milk: Another 2020 study found microplastics in all breast milk samples from a group of German women.

Mitigation Strategies
While there is currently no proven way to remove microplastics from the human body, preventive strategies include:

  • Avoiding single-use plastics
  • Using water filters capable of trapping microplastics
  • Opting for natural fabrics and personal care products
  • Eating fresh, unprocessed food whenever possible
  • Employing air purifiers with filters that can remove microplastic particles
