Methylcobalamin is one of the two bioactive coenzyme forms of vitamin B12 that truly benefit our bodies. Only methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin can have a direct effect on metabolic processes – all other forms of vitamin B12 must first be converted by the body into these bioactive forms in order to be effective as coenzymes in the body.

Compared to conventional cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin shows significantly better cellular uptake. It is true that blood levels initially rise even higher with cyanocobalamin than with methylcobalamin. However, a large proportion of the cyanocobalamin is excreted unused shortly afterwards, whereas methylcobalamin is immediately transported to the cells and increases the cellular B12 level. Especially in the central nervous system, B12 is needed for the function of the nervous system and the synthesis of neurotransmitters. Its functions are also important for error-free cell division and DNA synthesis.

Methyfolate is the natural form of folic acid in the organism. Conventional folic acid is a synthetic compound that has no vitamin function itself and does not occur naturally. Folic acid must first be converted to folate in the liver and thus biologically activated. However, in the case of reduced enzyme activity, the activation step does not always work. When folate is supplied to the body as a biologically active coenzyme form, both uptake and biological availability are much higher.

Folate (referred to as “folic acid”) plays a key role in all cell growth and development processes, is actively involved in DNA replication, and is especially needed during pregnancy for the healthy development of the embryo. In combination with vitamin B12 and iron, folate contributes to blood formation, amino acid synthesis and immune system function.

Pyridoxal phosphate is the activated coenzyme form of vitamin B6 and is also found in this form in nature. The water-soluble B vitamin is involved in over 100 enzymatic reactions, primarily in amino acid and protein metabolism. As a coenzyme, it can support neurotransmitter synthesis in particular and thus ensure emotional balance. In addition, activated vitamin B6 positively influences the function of the nervous and immune systems.

MSM (MethylSulfonylMethane) is the organic form of sulfur that occurs naturally in all living organisms and is biologically active. Since ancient times, sulfur-containing sources have been used to promote health. Organically bound sulfur is an integral component of many proteins, hormones, enzymes, the cartilage substance and many other important compounds and structures in the body. Sulfur, along with calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus, is one of the bulk elements in the body that serve as building materials. It is the third most abundant mineral after calcium and phosphorus; the human organism contains about 140 to 150 grams of sulfur.MSM and natural sulfur compounds from mustard oils (wild garlic, garlic, onions, radish, horseradish, leek, cabbage, mustard), among others, support internal cleansing. Organic sulfur promotes the permeability of cell membranes. This improves the absorption of nutrients into the cells and also the removal of waste products from the cells. Both glutathione and the sulfone, thiol and methyl groups from organic sulfur compounds are required in many central metabolic processes and the body’s own detoxification processes (especially for the biotransformation I
and II of undesirable substances).
