SoftSilver™ Earthing pillow case
- Highly effective at grounding the body.
- EMF shielding against high frequency EMFs.
- Strong anti-bacterial properties.
SoftSilver™ pillow cases use the same advanced fabric as the SoftSilver™ sheets, the culmination of years of product development. This special fabric is woven entirely from ultra-fine silver thread. It feels silky soft to touch, is highly conductive and offers improved EMF shielding compared with conventional earthing/grounding products. While grounding the body in any way greatly reduces the effects of low frequency EMFs (such as from mains electricity and domestic appliances), the continuous silver of the SoftSilver™ products means that they also block high frequency EMFs (such as WiFi and 5G) much more effectively than other grounding products. Longevity is also significantly improved compared with a conventional earthing/grounding pillow case. The SoftSilver™ will remain effective at least twice as long given the same usage and care (see below for recommended washing and care instructions).
It is 50cm x 75cm (20" x 30") and is conductive on both sides. A 6m (20ft) coiled connection cord is included with the pillow case. No connection plug is included by default, since most people will use the pillow case in conjunction with a grounding sheet, and up to two products can share the same plug.
About Grounding or Earthing
Grounding, or earthing, refers to connecting electrically with the Earth. A growing body of research is finding numerous health benefits as a result of the physical body being grounded.
Unfortunately, with our modern rubber or plastic soled shoes and insulated sleeping arrangements, we no longer have a natural electrical connection to the Earth, unless walking barefoot.
There are two key reasons why this electrical connection is important:
The Earth is a massive reservoir of free electrons. Without a connection to this reservoir, the cells in our body are unable to balance the charge of electron-deficient free radicals. The effect of grounding on clumped blood cells is also well documented (see Scientific Research).
Our modern environment is full of a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, from computers, mobile phones & masts, radio & TV broadcasts, WiFi, Bluetooth, power lines, domestic wiring, and other electrical appliances. This electromagnetic radiation induces voltages in our bodies, disrupting the trillions of subtle electrical communications which are a vital part of the function of our body's systems. By being grounded to the Earth we greatly reduce the levels of these induced voltages, as we are then effectively shielded by the Earth's large electrical mass. On a less tangible level, it may also be that the connection we make with the Earth actually carries information, and helps align us with the greater network of intelligence of our planet.
Here is how this process can specifically benefit your health:
1. Reduces Inflammation
To put it simply, it’s thought that the influx of free electrons from Earth’s surface help to neutralize free radicals and reduce both acute and chronic inflammation and accelerated aging.
How does earthing help stop inflammation? Inflammation, which triggers disease for so many people, is largely believed to be caused by a lack of electrons in your tissues. The belief about earthing’s benefits is that electrons can be absorbed from the bottom of your feet when they’re touching the ground, and then these can move anywhere in your body where free radicals are forming. The antioxidant electrons help cancel out free radicals and, therefore, halt damage to DNA and other forms of “oxidative stress.”
2. Helps Reduce Stress Hormones
Chronic stress can kill your quality of life, as you’ve probably experienced firsthand. But luckily, time spent in nature can really help reverse certain feelings of stress and anxiety. One double-blind study that investigated the effects of earthing on 58 healthy adults used conductive adhesive patches placed on the sole of each participant’s foot to read their electrical signals. The subjects were exposed to 28 minutes in the unearthed condition followed by 28 minutes with the earthing wire connected. Controls were unearthed for 56 minutes.
After earthing, about half the subjects showed “an abrupt, almost instantaneous change in root mean square (rms) values of electroencephalograms (EEGs) from the left hemisphere of the brain.” These changes are believed to signify positive changes and lower stress reactions.
3. Can Help You Sleep Better
A 2007 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine demonstrated that connecting the human body to the earth during sleep (earthing) normalizes the daily cortisol rhythm and improves sleep patterns. This is because of the effects that stress hormones have on your natural circadian rhythm, energy and ability to sleep soundly.
4. Can Help Increase Energy
Many people have found that earthing or grounding can improve their energy or fight low-grade ongoing fatigue. This can be one side effect of getting better sleep but also be due to improvements in hormones and lower levels of inflammation.
5. Can Help Lower Pain
Inflammation is a major source of pain, since it increases swelling, stiffness, reduced mobility and malformation. Inflammation in the joints and tissues are the main cause of pain associated with chronic conditions like arthritis. One 2010 pilot study compared the pain levels of adults who were grounding compared to a control group following intense exercise that caused muscle soreness. The results showed that grounding the body to the earth altered measures of immune system activity and pain.
Among the ungrounded men, there was an expected, sharp increase in white blood cells (a sign of an inflammatory response) and greater perception of pain after exercise. In comparison, the grounded men had only a slight decrease in white blood cells, indicating less inflammation, and experienced shorter recovery times.
