MITOCHONDRIA AND LIFE ENERGY
Mitochondria are the "power plants" of the body’s cells; the energy converters. These specialized cell organelles produce the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecule necessary for cell energy by transforming the bound energy of the food into a cell-utilizable form. This form of energy is needed for all biochemical processes in the body and is therefore the essential basis of all processes of the body. The focus of mitochondrial medicine is on the so-called mitotropic substances. These micronutrients are necessary components of mitochondrial metabolism.
