IMMUNE SYSTEM
The biological defence system of our body, the immune system, generally serves to protect the body from tissue damage caused by pathogens. A variety of different organs and cell systems are involved in the development of the immune response. The formation of most cells in the blood takes place in the bone marrow. Further division and maturation processes lead to the development of various mature blood cells. Eventually, erythrocytes and platelets, as well as B and T cells, take on crucial roles in our bodies.

VITAMIN D AND CELL DIVISION
The body is able to independently synthesize vitamin D from sun rays. The body's own formation in the skin accounts for 80 to 90% of its vitamin D supply. A variety of tissues have a vitamin D receptor, which explains the broad functionality of the vitamin in our body. In addition to numerous other tasks, vitamin D has a function in cell division.
