Adrenal Cortex (100 mg and 100 capsules)

Adrenal Cortex (100 capsules)
Adrenal Cortex Natural Glandular support

  • Energy production
  • Stress resilience
  • Immune system support
  • Allergy and respiratory support
  • Healthy blood sugar within normal limits
  • Healthy adrenal function
  • Healthy mood
  • Healthy blood pressure within normal limits

Our glandulars are lyophilized, or freeze-dried, which means the material is immediately frozen, then subjected to a high vacuum that vaporizes moisture directly from the solid state. This sophisticated and sensitive technique respects the delicate nature of the material, and except for the water content, leaves in everything that naturally occurs in glandular tissue, including any fat content. Each lot of our glandular materials is subject to stringent microbial, heavy metal, and contaminant testing.

General about the use of Adrenal Cortex
Adrenal cortex glandular supplements, derived from pig or cow adrenal glands, are rich in hormones like cortisol, aldosterone, and DHEA, which manage stress, blood pressure, and metabolism. Taking these supplements can promote adrenal health, potentially enhancing stress resilience and mitigating symptoms of adrenal fatigue or insufficiency like lethargy, weakness, low blood pressure, and salt cravings. They might also possess immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties beneficial for autoimmune or inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, or asthma. Furthermore, they could help regulate metabolism and weight by managing blood sugar levels, lipid metabolism, and appetite.

Adrenal Cortex function in the body

  • Produces the glucocorticoids cortisol and cortisone which modulates the immune system and regulates blood sugar metabolism as well as energy production
  • Produces mineralocorticoids such as aldosterone and corticosterone, key regulators of mineral and water balance Produces a minor amount of sex hormones such as progestins, androgens and estrogens
  • Does not contain catecholamines present in the adrenal medulla

Background
Throughout history, humans have prized organ meats for their health benefits and their nutrient density. These parts of the animal, also known as offal, provide essential nutrients that are absent or less abundant in muscle meats alone. Such a tradition was not only prevalent in ancient and indigenous cultures worldwide but was also widely acknowledged for its life-sustaining properties.

Unfortunately, the past 150 years have seen a significant decline in the consumption of organ meats in Western culture, particularly among middle and upper-class American households. This change is largely attributable to the rise of factory farming during the Industrial Revolution in the mid-19th century. The increasing availability and affordability of domesticated animal meat led to a shift in dietary preferences, with organ meat falling out of favor as muscle meats became more prevalent.

This change, however, may have had detrimental effects on our health. Besides their high nutrient density, organ meats and tissues are theorized to offer cellular information that could potentially alter gene expression. This alteration can support organ homeostasis and repair through mechanisms like microRNAs or exosomes. This theory is supported by the long-standing use of organ extracts in medical treatments, such as thyroid glandular in managing hypothyroidism.

By the early 20th century, the pharmaceutical industry, aiming to standardize doses and isolate active constituents, started producing synthetic versions of these organ extracts. However, many patients and clinicians report that synthetic and isolated constituent products don't always have the same efficacy as whole organ extracts. The field's leading figures hypothesize that other synergistic constituents found in the whole organ contribute to a greater healing effect compared to their synthetic, isolated counterparts.

At ARG, we recognize the value of this historical wisdom and are committed to perpetuating the tradition of providing whole organ and glandular extracts. We believe it's essential for the animals used for these extracts to be raised humanely and healthily. As a result, we strictly source our ingredients from animals that have been pastured and raised under the most rigorous farming practices.

Biotin is an essential coenzyme for a variety of carboxylation reactions, and is involved in the metabolism of fats, sugars and amino acids. Biotin is crucial for the utilization of glucose for energy, the breakdown and utilization of fatty acids in energy production, and the synthesis of protein from amino acids. Gluten Free! Biotin plays a role in supporting the health of the hair, skin, and nails. Biotin has had many other names, including vitamin B7, vitamin H, and ‘W Factor’.

Biotin was discovered in 1927. The absence of an essential metabolite was detected in experiments, when mice became sickened by a diet containing significant amounts of raw egg white, and were restored when other foods were given, including egg yolk, milk, and bananas. Shortly thereafter, biotin was isolated
and characterized. Fifteen years later, biotin was determined to be an essential nutrient in human nutrition when humans were made deficient in it, again using raw egg white, and then restored with the administration of biotin. Egg white causes biotin deficiency because it contains the protein avidin, which binds avidly
to biotin, preventing absorption. When the egg white is cooked, the avidin is denatured, and it can no longer bind biotin.

DIM Palmetto Prostate Formula (60 capsules)

Key Features

  • Supplies nutrients important for the function of the prostate gland
  • May help regulate the effect of endogenous hormones on the prostate gland
  • Helps promote the conversion of estrogen to its beneficial, protective 2-hydroxyestrone metabolites and reduces production of genotoxic 16alpha-hydroxyestrone
  • Stimulates detoxification enzyme systems

DIM Palmetto
The mechanisms for DIM’s health benefits primarily involve the induction of mixed function oxidases and phase II detoxification enzyme systems by the binding
and activation of the arylhydrocarbon receptor. Some have suggested that DIM may also positively affect cellular signaling pathways.
Zinc is necessary for the functioning of over 300 enzymes, playing a crucial role in many biological processes. The epithelial cells of the prostate gland accumulate higher
zinc levels than any soft tissue in the male body, and zinc is necessary for the development of sperm. Research suggests that zinc may support prostate health through
its participation in the regulation of 5-alpha-reductase. Zinc is also involved in the proper metabolism of unsaturated fatty acids.
Until 1936, pumpkin seeds were listed in the United States Pharmacopoeia. In recent decades, pumpkin seed oil has been utilized for prostate support, often
used in conjunction with saw palmetto berry extract, and human and animal studies show pumpkin seed oil may also support the function of the bladder and urethra.
Active ingredients include the essential fatty acids linoleic acid and oleic acid, tocopherols, amino acids, minerals, phytosterols, porphyrins and carotenoids including lutein.  We use a carbon dioxide supercritical solvent-free fluid extract of saw palmetto, which contains important essential fatty acids and phytosterols. Studies show that saw palmetto can reduce binding of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the prostate through inhibition of nuclear receptors. It also potentially inhibits the action of 5-alphareductase, the enzyme needed for the conversion of testosterone into DHT. Clinical trials have demonstrated that saw palmetto berry extract may support prostate
health, while also showing no evidence that it interferes with measurement of serum prostate specific antigen (PSA), a marker used in monitoring the health of the
prostate gland. There is also evidence that saw palmetto can play a role in healthy estrogen metabolism. Stinging Nettle root has been studied extensively regarding its detoxifying qualities and its support of prostate function. It has potential to beneficially help regulate the effect of endogenous hormones, such as testosterone, dihydrotestosterone and estrogen, on the prostate gland. Nettle root contains scopoletin, sterols, fatty acids, polysaccharides and lectins.
Beta-sitosterol is a sterol, a plant fat (“phytosterol”) that closely resembles cholesterol. Phytosterols have been studied for decades and much is known about them. Beta-sitosterol has been widely researched and shown to support immunity, healthy cholesterol within normal levels and blood sugar within normal levels. Three double-blind clinical trials of beta-sitosterol have demonstrated it has potential support for healthy prostate function. Lycopene is a pigment that gives plants such as tomatoes, guava, watermelon and pink grapefruit their red hue. As an antioxidant carotenoid, it has been found to have protective effects for the vascular system and the eyes.Recent studies show that supplemental lycopene may support prostate function.

Healthy Prostate & Ovary (180 capsules)
Vietnamese ‘Royal’ Herbal Formula

Healthy Prostate & Ovary is a blend of Chinese and Vietnamese herbs that are traditionally known to be supportive in promoting the health of ovary, prostate, breast and other organs and tissues. It also may support detoxification, production of energy, and enhancement of the body’s immune response mechanisms.

Key features

  • Supports detoxification, production of energy, and the immune system
  • Contains herbs traditionally utilized to promote the health of ovary, prostate, breast and other organs and tissues

Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) is a sweet tonic herb, native to northern Chinese highlands. Astragalus was classified as a superior herb in the ancient Chinese medicine treatise, Shen Nong Pen Tsao Ching. It is used traditionally as an adaptogenic herb with immune and tonic properties, and is considered cardiotonic. Its adaptogenic properties include increasing stamina, endurance and resistance to cold temperatures. Recent research may confirm that astragalus supports immune function, and support of blood sugar within normal levels. It contains flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids, trace minerals and triterpene glycosides such as the astragalosides I-VII.

Water Plantain (Alisma plantago-aquatica) is found in the Far East and throughout Europe. Traditionally it has been used to support healthy blood flow, and blood lipids within normal levels. It enhances kidney and liver yin energy, and may help support hormones within normal levels.

Crinum latifolium is a traditional Vietnamese herb used by royalty in ancient times to enhance longevity. Its active ingredients include alkaloids, amino acids, steroid saponins and antioxidants. It plays a role in cellular immunity, in the activation of T-lymphocytes. It also appears to support detoxification and
healthy hormones within normal levels. It is currently used in Vietnam for a wide variety of health benefits, including support of ovary, uterine and prostate function.

Bitter melon (Momordica charantia) is used as both food and medicine in the tropics. It possesses a variety of beneficial properties related to detoxification. Bitter melon is a kidney and liver yin tonic, used traditionally to support blood sugar within normal levels, and the immune system. Active ingredients include steroidal saponins, insulin-like peptides, alkaloids, and immune system proteins alphamomorcharin and beta-momorcharin.

Papaya (Carica papaya) originated in Central America, but now is found throughout the world. Many parts of the plant are used traditionally for food and medicine. Traditional healers in Indonesia use papaya leaves for animals after parturition. In Peru, the leaf tea is considered digestive and cardiotonic. The leaves contain alkaloids such as carpaine, flavonols, tannins and enzymes.

Soursop (Annona muricata) is found throughout the American tropics. Traditional healers considered soursop leaf to be a nervine that could support heart and liver function and the mucous membranes. Modern research into soursop goes back to the 1940s, and researchers have isolated several hundred bioactive annonaceous acetogenins from soursop and other members of its species. Certain of these acetogenins are reported to selectively block transfer of ATP to intercellular P-glycoprotein mediated pumps, which are peculiar to the plasma membranes of some cells.

ImmunoBiotic Pro (200 capsules)

ImmunoBiotic Pro (200 capsules)
Immunobiotic Regulator

ImmunoBiotic Pro contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus lysate powder. Lactobacillus cell wall fragments have shown significant immune system supporting properties. Formerly known as Russian Choice Immune®.

ImmunoBiotic Pro is a dietary supplement formulated with lactobacillus rhamnosus lysate, a byproduct of probiotic bacterial fermentation, known for its immune-supporting capabilities. This supplement is hailed for:

  • Stimulating both the innate (first line of defense) and adaptive (specific, long-lasting) immune responses. The lysate can activate immune cells and regulate cytokine production, key in managing immune response and inflammation.
  • Enhancing the efficiency of other immunomodulators or immunotherapies, and reducing some of their side effects.
  • Supporting gut health by promoting beneficial bacteria and inhibiting harmful bacteria or toxins, influencing digestion, immunity, metabolism, and mood positively.
  • ImmunoBiotic Pro boasts of safety and tolerability. The lysate, derived from a strain found in a centuries-old fermented dairy product, is hypoallergenic, dairy-free, gluten-free, and free from common allergens.

Key Features

  • May stimulate and support both the innate and adaptive immune system responses
  • Cell wall fragments work quickly to stimulate the immune system

Eastern European traditions have long valued cultured milk products for immune-stimulating properties. Dr. Ivan Bogdanov established that lactobacilli could stimulate cellular and humoral immunity, leading many lactobacilli and bifido species to show immune-supporting traits. Consequently, some scientists suggest renaming probiotic bacteria as 'immunobiotics.'

Lactobacillus rhamnosus has been found to modulate and enhance immunity and fortify intestinal immunologic barrier function. It stimulates the innate immunity and drives mucosal immune mechanisms with far-reaching effects.

In ImmunoBiotic Pro, the Lactobacillus rhamnosus cells are lysed, enabling the typically sequestered immune-active components to trigger and amplify the immune response. The bacterial cell walls from these bacteria are known to stimulate and bolster host immunity. They contain teichoic acids and antigens that can stimulate antibodies.

Whole cells and cell wall fragments of L. rhamnosus have been shown to strengthen the host’s immune defenses by various means. While probiotics and cultured milk products have immune-supporting properties, cell wall fragments seem to be much stronger immune system stimulators.

Lactobacillus cell-wall fragment materials have been used safely for many years. ImmunoBiotic Pro is a popular product, known for its safety and tolerability. Dr. Reid, an independent academic scientist, provides these insights without financial gain or spokesperson duties for the Allergy Research Group.
