In a meta-analysis of 12 randomized controlled trials, consumption of two or more grams of glucomannan fiber daily for three to 12 weeks helped to maintain already-healthy LDL and HDL cholesterol levels.

In a group of 25 healthy middle-aged men, adding glucomannan to rice before eating it helped maintain healthy blood sugar levels, compared to simply eating rice by itself.
